Biography

Mahmoud completed his PhD in neuroscience at McGill University in 2018. During his PhD, he developed a novel assay to measure and analyze aggressive behaviour, processed a systematic genetic screen to find genes controlling aggression and the neuronal circuits throughwhich they control the behaviour. Prior to his doctoral studies, he gained experience in understanding the neuronal pathways in neuroinflammation and Alzheimer’s Disease. He cofounded an enterprise, and was one of the McGill Dobson Cup finalists. His is passionate about research, business development, and filling the gap between them. He is excited about combining basic science and clinical studies to resolve medical challenges and devise better solutions. After the MIF program Mahmoud went on to join Info-Tech Research Group as a research analyst.
