Biography

Xinyi is currently finishing her PhD in the School of Biomedical Engineering at Western University. Her doctoral research focuses on multifunctional drug delivery systems for localized treatments of diseases. As a result, she developed expertise in biomaterials, microfluidics, and drug delivery. Her doctoral thesis involves collaboration with research teams in different fields, and she acquired strong project management and communication skills. At Western, she also actively participated in diverse curricular and extracurricular activities, where she gained experience in research translation and commercialization. Xinyi firmly believes that the advancement in science and technology can bring a positive impact to society. She aims to pursue a career in the medical device industry with a focus on biotechnology and nanotechnology.
